Exclusive Donor Open House

October 24th to 26th

What does the event include?

The event will begin with a brief introductory video, followed by a guided tour showcasing
Toronto Wildlife Centre’s five program areas: Wildlife Rescue, Veterinary Hospital, Wildlife
Rehabilitation, Education and Outreach, and the Wildlife Hotline. During the tour, you will gain a
behind-the-scenes look at the specialized expertise and care that support each stage of wildlife
treatment and recovery. Afterward, guests are welcome to explore the public education space,
browse the merchandise shop, and enjoy complimentary refreshments.

Please note that, to minimize stress for our patients, animal viewing is very limited. While
sightings cannot be guaranteed, guests may have the opportunity to observe animals through
specially designed viewing windows and select live webcams that provide a glimpse into a few
enclosures all while helping ensure the animals remain calm and stress-free.

Can we bring children? Is there a minimum age to attend?

Yes, children are welcome. We ask that families keep in mind that animals at the centre are
recovering and need a quiet, calm environment. For the safety and comfort of both guests and
wildlife, children must stay with a parent or guardian at all times and follow the instructions of
our tour leaders. Please note that children, like all visitors, will not have direct access to the
animals and may not see many during the tour.

Is the centre accessible for people with disabilities?

Yes, the centre is mostly accessible, though there are some limitations due to the age and
layout of the building. Most areas can be accessed, but the outdoor enclosure area may be
more challenging to navigate. If you have specific accessibility needs, we encourage you to
contact us in advance to address your concerns.
Although we’re all animal lovers at TWC, this event is not suitable for pets. Service animals are,
of course, welcome in most areas.

Is the centre accessible by public transit?

Yes. The closest TTC bus stop is at Carl Hall Road at Centennial College, just a two-minute
walk from our entrance. The Downsview Park Station, served by both TTC subway and GO
Transit, is located at 25 Vitti Street in North York. For help planning your route, you can contact
the TTC at 416-393-4636 or visit www.ttc.ca/trip-planner.

Can I bring something to donate?

We’re always grateful for donations! Monetary gifts are especially helpful since they allow us to
purchase controlled items, like pharmaceutical medications for our patients. If you would prefer
to bring items with you, please check our Wish List for the most up-to-date items we currently
need. We kindly ask that you only bring items listed, so we can avoid using resources to store or
dispose of items we are unable to use.
