Donations of supplies and services help Toronto Wildlife Centre help more patients by keeping costs low. Your kindness means essential funds can stay focused where they matter most—caring for wild patients in need.

**Please contact us before bringing in an item**

Reaching out first ensures your gift can be put to immediate use for wild patients. We never want to turn away donations when you’ve taken the time and effort to bring them to us. And when items can’t be used, we must pay for their responsible disposal—these funds could otherwise go directly to patient care. A quick call or email makes sure your gift has the greatest possible impact!

No Thank You List

We are unable to accept under any circumstances:

  • Fur or down coats. The cost of cleaning these items in-between uses of patients is too high
  • Expired/open/prescription pet food
  • Expired medication
  • Clothing
  • Fitted sheets
  • Pillows/cushions as they are difficult to wash/dry
  • Pet gates
  • Cardboard boxes
  • Pet beds as they are difficult to clean

Thanks to generous donations, we are currently full and no longer need for the time being:

  • Linens/towels (as we have limited storage)
  • Newspapers (as we have limited storage)

Gift cards

 

  •  Gas gift cards (any company): For fuel for our wildlife rescue vehicles.

Vet supplies

 

  • Transparent Film Dressing (in all sizes) 
  •  AAA batteries: used for our surgical monitoring equipment. 
  •  Nebulizer: Provides medicated mist to treat respiratory illnesses, helping wild patients breathe easier and recover faster.
  •  Stethoscope: For medical assessments and monitoring
  •  Pediatric stethoscope: A smaller stethoscope designed for tiny patients like bats and songbirds.

  •  Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet: Used to create interactive displays and engage visitors at our educational events.

Animal care supplies

 

  •  Critter Keepers – small, medium and large: To house and transport our smaller wild patients like frogs, turtle hatchlings, and bats. 
  •  Butterfly tents – Large size: To be used in flight cages for birds and bats.
  •  Butterfly nets (3- to 6-foot long handles): To safely capture wild patients. 
  •  Large and medium sized insect tent: To house recovering songbirds. 
  •  Exo Terra Solar Glo bulbs (80W and 125W):  To provide a heat source and simulate day-light cycles for reptiles like turtles and snakes.

  •  Electric sump pump (Mastercraft 1/3 HP): For cleaning and maintaining pools in animal enclosures

  •  Koodo Mobile 4G [Big Data Plan] 4G LTE Prepaid 50$ SIM Card: To be used in trail cameras to send photos and videos remotely, so our Rescue Team can monitor wildlife without disturbing them. 
  •  Waterproof Housing for ONE RS x1: Used to protect the camera’s sensitive electronics from water, dust, and debris.
  •  Stainless Steel Cable Sleeve Protector x3:  To protect our wires in various environments.
  •  Rechargeable Batteries: Offers longer runtime for our cameras without needing frequent replacements. 

Food and nutrition

  • Purina Pro Plan Dry Dog Food Savor, Shredded Blend Adult Chicken and Rice Formula: For wild patients like foxes, coyotes, and opossums.

Office and kitchen items

  • Tabletop scales that resolve to 0.1gram with a maximum weight of at least 500 grams – New or used: to weigh our smaller wild patients, like hummingbirds and baby water birds.

  •  Postage stamps:  Used to send important paperwork, forms, outreach materials, and thank-you notes to supporters.
