Release video: Some of the baby gulls involved in Pickering cruelty situation released
These are the first group of ring-billed gulls from the gull colony cruelly powerwashed from a roof top in Pickering. The impact of the water blaster sent dozens of young babies flying from the roof, hitting the pavement below. Many babies died, others were injured.
Toronto Wildlife Centre (TWC) was contacted about the surviving babies, and Humane Society staff set to work gathering up the young ones and boxing them up. They were later joined by TWC volunteers who helped search for more babies.
