How can I tell if the baby is a House Sparrow or European Starling?

Tips that the baby is a European Starling:

• Prominent yellow gape flanges (often described as having big yellow “lips”)

• Inside of the mouth also bright yellow

• Tufts of grey down on head

• Often found in commercial or industrial areas; beside buildings as opposed to trees

Tips that the baby is a House Sparrow:

• Prominent yellow gape flanges
• Inside of mouth pink

• Small bird (smaller than an apricot before feathered) often found in commercial or industrial areas; beside buildings as opposed to trees]
